The roles are suited to experienced professionals who can take ownership of complex systems and help build reliable financial infrastructure at scale. The positions are full-time and hybrid.

Responsibilities:

Senior Platform Security Engineer

• Own and evolve security architecture across Paystack's multi-account AWS environment.
• Design scalable identity and access-management systems.
• Establish secure-by-default cloud standards and automated security controls.
• Strengthen security across secrets, networks, containers and infrastructure supply chains.
• Translate regulatory requirements into practical infrastructure controls and audit evidence.
• Build production-quality security tooling and automation.

Senior IT Engineer

• Manage identity, endpoint, network and access infrastructure.
• Configure SAML, OIDC, SCIM and attribute-driven RBAC.
• Manage the macOS fleet, device trust and endpoint security.
• Maintain networks across multiple locations, including VLANs, firewalls and connectivity.
• Drive the migration from legacy VPNs to Zero Trust Network Access.
• Automate infrastructure using Terraform, Git workflows and scripting.

Senior QA Engineer

• Build and maintain automated tests for critical payment flows.
• Develop contract, integration, end-to-end and performance tests.
• Improve testability, test data and observability.
• Own quality for assigned product areas.
• Contribute to shared testing frameworks and infrastructure.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to translate customer pain points into test coverage.

QA Lead

• Own the overall quality and test automation strategy.
• Set standards for test architecture, frameworks and test data.
• Lead, mentor and coach QA and automation engineers.
• Track test coverage, pipeline health and quality impact.
• Partner with product and engineering leaders to improve testing practices.
• Represent Quality Engineering in planning and technical design reviews.

Senior Database Administrator

• Own database architecture and strategy for critical payment workloads.
• Design highly available and fault-tolerant database solutions.
• Manage migrations, upgrades, schema changes, backups and recovery.
• Optimise database performance and capacity.
• Manage database monitoring, alerting and security.
• Lead database incident response and disaster recovery planning.

Senior DevOps Engineer

• Design and maintain cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines.
• Build scalable, highly available and fault-tolerant systems.
• Develop end-to-end automation and infrastructure tooling.
• Support secure system design, secrets management and Zero Trust practices.
• Own CI/CD architecture and contribute to incident response.
• Improve engineering productivity through automation.

Senior Data Engineer

• Design and maintain data pipelines using ETL and ELT methodologies.
• Build real-time data streaming solutions with Kafka, Debezium and Kafka Connect.
• Develop workflows using Apache Airflow.
• Work across relational, NoSQL and analytical database technologies.
• Manage infrastructure using Terraform, Kubernetes and Helm.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines, testing, monitoring and production support.

Requirements:

Senior Platform Security Engineer

• Deep hands-on experience securing AWS environments at scale.
• Experience with multi-account architecture, organisation-wide policies and access governance.
• Strong knowledge of IAM, secrets, networks, containers and infrastructure security.
• Experience securing live systems in regulated environments.
• Strong coding, automation and technical communication skills.

Senior IT Engineer

• 5+ years of infrastructure or systems engineering experience.
• Strong depth in at least two areas: IAM, endpoint management, network engineering or Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience with SAML, OIDC, OAuth, SCIM, LDAP or WebAuthn/FIDO2.
• Experience managing endpoint environments and multi-site networks.
• Proficiency with Terraform and scripting languages such as Python, Go or Bash.
• Strong technical writing and compliance experience.

Senior QA Engineer

• Strong experience with at least one major programming language, preferably TypeScript or JavaScript.
• Experience building and maintaining test automation frameworks.
• Experience testing complex web applications and APIs.
• Strong SQL and data validation skills.
• Understanding of CI/CD and automated deployment testing.
• Experience with payments, fintech or other high-reliability systems.
• Experience with performance testing, observability or mobile UI automation.
• Experience using AI to improve workflows.

QA Lead

• Extensive experience with modern test automation across web, mobile and APIs.
• Proven experience driving QA and automation strategy at scale.
• Experience leading and developing QA or automation engineering teams.
• Strong communication, project management and organisational skills.
• Experience with CI/CD, performance testing and observability.
• Experience in payments, fintech or other high-reliability environments.
• Experience using AI to improve workflows.

Senior Database Administrator

• 5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator or Database Reliability Engineer.
• Deep expertise with MySQL and experience with Redis or MongoDB.
• Experience with AWS RDS, Aurora or similar cloud-managed databases.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform and database automation.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, Bash or similar languages.
• Experience with Prometheus, Grafana and CloudWatch.
• Strong knowledge of backup, recovery and disaster recovery.
• Experience with high-throughput transactional systems.

Senior DevOps Engineer

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering.
• Deep expertise with AWS services.
• Experience with Terraform and reusable Infrastructure as Code modules.
• Real-world Kubernetes experience.
• Proficiency in Python, Node.js, Bash or Golang.
• Strong networking knowledge.
• Experience with ArgoCD, GitHub Actions, Prometheus and Grafana.
• Strong technical documentation skills.

Senior Data Engineer

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of data engineering experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of software or application development experience.
• Strong Python skills.
• Hands-on experience with Kafka, Debezium and Kafka Connect.
• Experience with Apache Airflow or similar workflow orchestration tools.
• Strong experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB and analytical databases.
• Experience with Terraform, Kubernetes, Helm and CI/CD.
• Strong SQL skills and familiarity with testing methodologies.
