OPay is recruiting candidates for sales and field operations roles across Nigeria. The openings cover sales management, customer acquisition and field verification, with responsibilities ranging from growing sales territories to supporting financial product onboarding and verifying customer information.

Responsibilities

Sales Manager

• Lead, coach and supervise Sales Agents to deliver business and portfolio targets.
• Develop territory sales strategies based on market opportunities and customer segments.
• Monitor applications, approvals, disbursements, collections and other performance indicators.
• Conduct field visits and coaching sessions to improve agent performance.
• Recruit, onboard and develop Sales Agents.
• Review sales data, identify performance gaps and take corrective action.
• Maintain relationships with customers, merchants and community stakeholders.
• Work with Operations, Risk, Credit, Compliance and HR teams.
• Ensure sales activities follow company policies, regulatory requirements and responsible lending practices.

Field Sales Agent

• Identify and acquire prospective customers within assigned locations.
• Promote OPay's financial products and generate sales leads.
• Support customer onboarding and loan application processes.
• Build and maintain customer relationships.
• Carry out direct field sales activities and work towards assigned targets.

Field Sales Verification Officer

• Visit applicants' businesses, homes and guarantors to verify information submitted during loan applications.
• Assess customer information and repayment capacity during field visits.
• Identify inconsistencies and potential fraud risks.
• Document findings using digital tools and reporting applications.
• Work independently while maintaining confidentiality and professional standards.

Requirements

Sales Manager

• Bachelor's degree or HND in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Economics or a related field.
• 2-4 years of relevant experience in sales, business development, fintech, banking, microfinance or field sales.
• Sales or field-team supervisory experience is preferred.
• Proven ability to meet sales targets and manage team performance.
• Experience with CRM systems, Excel, dashboards or digital reporting is an advantage.

Field Sales Agent

• Minimum of OND in a relevant field.
• 1-3 years of sales experience, preferably in fintech, banking, microfinance, lending or related financial services.
• Experience in direct sales, customer acquisition, loan sales, deposit mobilisation or financial product sales.
• Strong communication, negotiation and customer relationship skills.
• Ability to work towards and meet sales targets.
• Comfortable conducting field activities within assigned locations.
• Basic proficiency with smartphones, digital platforms, Microsoft Office and CRM applications.

Field Sales Verification Officer

• OND or HND.
• Basic numerical ability.
• At least 1 year of experience in field verification, credit appraisal or risk assessment is preferred.
• Candidates without previous experience may apply if willing to learn.
• Strong observation, analytical and investigative skills.
• Ability to use digital cameras and basic reporting tools.
• Good interpersonal skills, honesty, discretion and attention to detail.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
