Job Description

Nestlé Nigeria Plc, part of the world's largest food and beverage company, is recruiting a Field Sales Manager for its Waters division based in Abuja. The role sits at the heart of Nestlé's route-to-market execution, responsible for driving sales performance, managing distributor sales teams, and ensuring product availability and visibility across priority outlets within an assigned territory. This is a hands-on field leadership role that combines commercial strategy with day-to-day team coaching and stakeholder management. Responsibilities

  • Drive sales performance within an assigned territory through effective planning, merchandising, and execution
  • Ensure product availability, visibility, and accessibility across priority outlets
  • Achieve approved sales, volume, and profit targets
  • Develop route-to-market strategies, coverage plans, and journey plans for distributor sales teams
  • Provide coaching and on-the-job training through regular field accompaniment
  • Manage relationships with distributors, retailers, and wholesalers
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer demand patterns
  • Submit timely and accurate reports to support business decision-making
  • Manage order processing and communicate stock levels to Regional Sales Managers
  • Drive achievement of Business Sales Objectives (BSO) and Nestlé's "Picture of Success" across outlets
  • Oversee use of Optimetriks for outlet coverage and product visibility tracking
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and WHO Code guidelines

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or HND
  • Minimum 2–4 years field sales experience in the FMCG sector
  • Solid understanding of the food and beverage industry, distributor networks, and retail operations
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Integrity and a proactive, results-driven mindset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Basic knowledge of integrated business planning
