Iconic Open University is inviting qualified and experienced academics and professionals to serve as Practicum, Field Work, SIWES and Project Supervisors. The engagement focuses on mentoring, monitoring and evaluating students while helping them connect academic knowledge with practical workplace and industry experience.

Supervisors are required across multiple academic departments and will be engaged for approximately 13 weeks per semester.

Responsibilities

Student Mentorship

• Provide professional guidance and mentorship to assigned students.
• Support students in achieving practicum, field-work, SIWES and project objectives.
• Provide constructive feedback on students' work and professional development.
• Help students address challenges encountered during practical assignments.

Report Review

• Review students' daily reports.
• Evaluate submitted reports and activities.
• Provide timely feedback where necessary.
• Ensure student activities align with programme requirements.

Progress Monitoring

• Monitor students' progress throughout the programme.
• Ensure students remain on track toward their course and practicum objectives.
• Identify challenges that may affect student performance.
• Support appropriate solutions and escalation where necessary.

Reporting and Evaluation

• Compile and submit bi-weekly student progress reports to the relevant Department Coordinator.
• Submit reports every Saturday before 4:00 PM, twice each month.
• Participate in end-of-course presentations and student evaluations.

Mandatory Meetings

• Attend Supervisor-Students meetings every Monday and Friday from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
• Attend biweekly Departmental Supervisors' meetings on Saturdays from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
• Review student progress and address supervision and assessment issues during departmental meetings.

Requirements

• Minimum of a Master's Degree in a relevant field.
• PhD is an added advantage.
• 2-4 years of relevant industry or academic supervisory experience.
• Relevant expertise in fields including Health Sciences, Information Technology, Business Administration, Public Administration, Education, Social Sciences, Engineering or other relevant disciplines.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong mentoring and interpersonal skills.
• Good reporting and documentation abilities.
• Availability for the full 13-week engagement period.
• Ability to participate in all mandatory supervision and departmental meetings.
• Applicants must either be current Iconic University lecturers or academics willing to join Iconic University as permanent, part-time or visiting lecturers.
