FAO Young Professionals Programme 2026 – Apply Now

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations is inviting applications for its 2026 Young Professionals Programme, offering young professionals an opportunity to begin an international career while contributing to work in food, agriculture, nutrition, natural resources and sustainable development. The programme is particularly focused on attracting talent from non- and under-represented FAO Member Nations, including developing countries and specific priority groups.

Responsibilities:

• Support the identification, design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of FAO activities.
• Work under the supervision of senior FAO staff.
• Collaborate with international and national colleagues.
• Contribute to country-specific, regional, sectoral or thematic assignments.
• Provide technical and professional support within the assigned area of work.
• Contribute to FAO programmes focused on sustainable food systems, agricultural development, food security, nutrition and improved livelihoods.

Requirements:

• Must be 32 years old or younger as of 31 December 2026.
• Advanced university degree such as a Master’s degree, PhD or equivalent in a relevant field.
• At least one year of relevant professional experience.
• Working knowledge of at least one FAO official language.
• Limited knowledge of another FAO official language, where required.
• Must meet the specific academic, professional, technical and competency requirements of the selected vacancy.
• Applicants must not be the son, daughter, brother or sister of an FAO staff member, subject to applicable rules.
