Apply For The Afreximbank Internship Programme 2027/2028 – Applications Now Open

The African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) is offering an internship programme for students interested in African trade, trade finance and economic development. The programme provides participants with an opportunity to understand the Bank’s operations while contributing fresh ideas to its work. Applications are open to eligible students from Afreximbank member countries, people of African descent in the diaspora and non-African students whose vision aligns with the Bank’s mission.

Responsibilities

• Gain practical exposure to Afreximbank’s mandate, operations and trade finance model.
• Contribute ideas and support the Bank’s activities during the internship.
• Develop an understanding of African trade and trade finance.

Requirements

• Be enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate programme at a recognised institution during the internship year.
• Study economics, business administration, finance, accounting, social sciences, statistics, law, sciences, engineering or a related field.
• Be a national of an Afreximbank member country, a person of African descent in the diaspora, or a non-African applicant whose vision aligns with the Bank’s mission.
• Be between 20 and 32 years old in the year of application.
• Be fluent in English or French, with a working knowledge of the other language.
• Knowledge of Arabic or Portuguese is an added advantage.
• Children of Afreximbank staff are not eligible.

• Monthly tax-free stipend of USD 1,000.
• Monthly housing allowance of USD 500 for interns relocating from their home countries.
