Job Description

Africa Impact Investing Group (AIIG) is recruiting for two remote opportunities within its Secretariat. The roles are suitable for professionals interested in programme delivery, stakeholder coordination, communications, research and impact investing across Africa.

Programme Manager

Responsibilities

  • Develop and coordinate annual and quarterly programme implementation plans.
  • Manage the delivery of projects across different countries and ensure agreed targets are achieved.
  • Coordinate the Africa Impact Summit and other regional events.
  • Work closely with national partners on projects, policy initiatives and research activities.
  • Maintain relationships with strategic partners, funders and other stakeholders.
  • Support the CEO with funding proposals, donor reporting and resource mobilisation.
  • Identify funding opportunities and assist with proposal and concept note development.
  • Establish and maintain systems for monitoring programme outputs and outcomes.
  • Collect, analyse and report programme data.
  • Prepare donor, board and programme reports.
  • Support budgeting, procurement, compliance and administrative processes.
  • Maintain programme records, SOPs and knowledge management systems.
  • Oversee the Programme Assistant's brand and communications activities.
  • Ensure AIIG's external communications follow its approved brand standards.
  • Lead the preparation of research reports, policy briefs, market intelligence reports and summit materials.
  • Coordinate research contributions from partners and consultants.
  • Review research outputs for accuracy, proper sourcing and quality.
  • Track developments within Africa's impact investing sector and provide relevant updates to the CEO.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Development Studies or a related discipline, or a Bachelor's degree with significant relevant experience.
  • At least 7 years' experience in programme or project management.
  • Experience in development finance, entrepreneurship support or impact investing.
  • Experience managing multi-country programmes and donor-funded projects.
  • Experience coordinating regional or continental events.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication abilities.
  • Knowledge of impact investing, blended finance and enterprise support is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with impact measurement and management frameworks is desirable.
  • Strong research, analytical and report-writing skills.
  • Competence in Excel, Google Sheets, Power BI and relevant project management tools.
  • French or Portuguese language skills are an advantage.
  • Strong organisation, initiative, collaboration and adaptability.


Programme Assistant

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and coordination support for AIIG programmes and projects.
  • Assist with board, executive committee, programme meetings, workshops and stakeholder engagements.
  • Manage meeting invitations, reminders, logistics and follow-ups.
  • Record meeting minutes and circulate agreed action points.
  • Follow up with team members and partners on outstanding tasks.
  • Organise and maintain programme documents and records on Google Drive.
  • Support the preparation of programme updates and reports.
  • Collect programme information and evidence for reporting and communications.
  • Assist with stakeholder consultations and strategic engagements.
  • Maintain AIIG's communications calendar.
  • Coordinate content for digital platforms, newsletters and partner networks.
  • Draft and review press releases, stakeholder updates, summit communications and social media content.
  • Support website updates, email communications and LinkedIn activities.
  • Monitor communications performance and audience engagement.
  • Coordinate with external design and communications agencies when required.
  • Track AIIG's communications reach and brand visibility.

Requirements

  • Strong written communication and document preparation skills.
  • Excellent organisational and administrative abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Experience within African national or regional ecosystem-building organisations is desirable.
  • Knowledge of impact investing, blended finance or enterprise support is an advantage.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate across different cultures and work effectively with stakeholders.
  • Proactive, organised and detail-oriented approach.
  • Strong emotional intelligence and ownership mindset.
  • Interest in social and environmental impact across Africa.
