CDCFIB Shortlists Candidates, Announces CBT Schedule for Paramilitary Recruitment
The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has announced the release of the list of shortlisted candidates for recruitment into Nigeria’s paramilitary agencies, including the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Federal Fire Service (FFS), and Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS).
According to an official statement by the Secretary of the Board, Maj. Gen. A. M. Jibril (Rtd), the shortlist and Computer-Based Test (CBT) schedule are now available on the CDCFIB recruitment portal, www.recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng.
Candidates are advised to log in to the portal from Thursday, October 30, 2025, to check their names, examination dates, and venues for the CBT phase of the recruitment process.
Official Statement and Warning Against Fraud
Maj. Gen. Jibril emphasized that the recruitment process remains free, fair, and transparent, warning applicants to beware of scammers and unauthorized websites posing as recruitment platforms.
“All shortlisted candidates should check their status only through the official portal. The Board will not request payment from any applicant at any stage of the recruitment process,” he stated.
The Board also reminded applicants that updates and notifications will be communicated strictly through official CDCFIB channels and not through social media intermediaries or agents.
Agencies Covered in the Ongoing Recruitment
The 2025 CDCFIB recruitment exercise covers four key paramilitary institutions under the Ministry of Interior:
-
Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS)
-
Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC)
-
Federal Fire Service (FFS)
-
Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS)
The Board noted that the recruitment aims to strengthen manpower across the services and enhance national security, border control, and emergency response capacity.
Candidates to Prepare for Computer-Based Test (CBT)
Shortlisted applicants will now move to the CBT stage, which serves as the next phase of the selection process.
The test will assess candidates’ general knowledge, reasoning ability, and suitability for their chosen service.
Candidates are required to:
-
Print out their examination slip from the CDCFIB portal,
-
Bring a valid means of identification, and
-
Arrive at their assigned centres early on the examination day.
The Board stressed that late entry or absence from the CBT session will lead to automatic disqualification.

Transparency and Digital Verification
The online release of shortlisted names and exam schedules marks another step toward digital transparency in Nigeria’s public-sector recruitment.
The Ministry of Interior has emphasized that using the CDCFIB online portal helps reduce human interference, fraud, and manipulation in the recruitment process.
Context: Paramilitary Recruitment Drives National Interest
The ongoing recruitment is part of the federal government’s plan to expand Nigeria’s paramilitary workforce, promote job creation, and enhance internal security.
Thousands of Nigerians applied earlier this year when the CDCFIB opened its online portal for applications across the four agencies.
With this shortlisting phase completed, the process now moves closer to final selection and training.
Official Reminder
The CDCFIB reiterates that no candidate should pay money or offer gifts to secure employment, warning that any such act could lead to disqualification and prosecution.
