U.S. Secret Service Opens Uniformed Division Recruitment, Offers Up to $75,000 Incentive
The United States Secret Service is accepting applications for Police Officer positions in its Uniformed Division, with eligible new hires able to receive a recruitment incentive of up to $75,000. The opening is listed on the official USAJOBS website, where the agency says applications are being accepted from March 1, 2026, through September 30, 2026.
According to the official job announcement, Uniformed Division officers help protect facilities and venues secured for Secret Service protectees. Their duties include safeguarding the White House complex, the Vice President’s residence, and other designated sites, as well as supporting protective missions involving the President, Vice President, and foreign heads of state or government.
To qualify, applicants must be U.S. citizens, hold a valid driver’s licence, and be at least 20 years old at the time of application and under 40 at referral, subject to limited exceptions for certain prior federal law enforcement service. Candidates must also pass the Uniformed Division Entrance Examination, background checks, medical screening, drug testing, and meet the requirements for a Top Secret clearance.
The position offers a salary range of $77,987 to $134,165 per year. Selected applicants must complete 13 weeks of training at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center, followed by 18 weeks of specialized training at the James J. Rowley Training Center in Maryland.
The $75,000 recruitment incentive is not paid all at once. Under the official terms, it is distributed in installments tied to training completion and continued service, and recipients must sign a four-year Continuing Service Agreement. The USAJOBS listing says newly hired employees who leave before fulfilling that agreement may be required to repay the incentive.
