3,700 Youths to Benefit as NCDMB Launches Nationwide Digitalization Training

The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has flagged off a major Digitalization Training Program that will equip 3,700 young Nigerians with cutting-edge digital skills to meet the evolving demands of the oil and gas sector and beyond.

This nationwide initiative is part of the Board’s commitment to developing local content, bridging the digital skills gap, and creating employment opportunities for Nigerian youths.


What the Training Covers

The program will expose participants to modern technologies currently transforming industries globally, including:

  • Artificial Intelligence (AI)

  • Cloud Computing

  • Big Data Analytics

  • Cybersecurity

  • Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT)

  • Blockchain applications

  • Robotics and Automation

  • Drone Operations

  • Virtual Reality (VR) & Augmented Reality (AR)

These skills are critical for efficiency, automation, lean operations, and enhanced productivity in oil and gas, as well as other sectors.


Who Can Apply

  • Nigerian youths aged 35 years or younger.

  • Applicants with interest in digital technology, innovation, and problem-solving.

  • Candidates from all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) are eligible.

The program is structured to train 3,700 participants over the next three years, ensuring broad national coverage.


Registration Process

All interested candidates are required to register through the official NOGIC JQS portal:

This portal serves as the official database for human and material capacity in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry. Applicants must create a profile, upload their details, and follow the instructions to be considered for shortlisting.


Selection & Screening

  • A pilot batch of 100 trainees will commence the program.

  • Applicants will be shortlisted via the NOGIC JQS database and subjected to a pre-selection test across the six geopolitical zones:

    • South East – Umuahia: September 30

    • South South – Warri: October 3

    • South West – Lagos: October 6

    • North East – Kaduna: October 6

    • North Central – Minna: October 9

Only shortlisted candidates who meet the requirements will be contacted for participation.

According to NCDMB Executive Secretary, Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe, the initiative will ensure that Nigerian youths are well-positioned to take advantage of the digital transformation in the oil and gas industry. By focusing on technology-driven local content, the Board aims to:
