The Quip Orange Army Initiative is a free biomedical engineering training and deployment programme for female engineering students, graduates and experienced biomedical engineers in Nigeria and Kenya. Participants receive practical training in medical equipment maintenance and repair, followed by competency assessment and certification, with qualified participants able to access paid technical deployment opportunities through the Quip professional network.

Responsibilities:

• Complete approximately four weeks of structured biomedical engineering training.
• Participate in self-paced learning and instructor-led sessions.
• Complete practical modules covering biomedical equipment systems, maintenance and repair.
• Attend live classes, mastery sessions and  career clinics.
• Participate in the required technical competency assessment.
• Build practical skills for working with healthcare facilities and medical equipment.
• Upon qualification, activate a verified professional profile within the Quip network.
• Become eligible for relevant paid maintenance and repair deployment opportunities.

Requirements:

• Must be female.
• Open to current engineering students.
• Open to engineering and biomedical engineering graduates.
• Experienced biomedical engineers are also eligible.
• Applicants should have an interest in biomedical engineering, medical equipment or healthcare technology.
• Must be willing to complete the required training and competency assessment.
• Must be available for deployment in Nigeria or Kenya.
