PATH is recruiting a Regional Policy Lead – Health Research & Development (Africa) to drive policy, advocacy, and strategic partnerships that strengthen health research and innovation across Africa. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for experienced public health professionals passionate about improving access to vaccines, medicines, diagnostics, and resilient health systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead health R&D policy and advocacy strategies across Africa
• Manage programme execution, budgets, timelines, and reporting
• Build partnerships with governments, African Union bodies, donors, and private sector organizations
• Represent PATH at regional and global policy forums
• Drive collaboration across internal teams and external stakeholders
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to project teams
• Identify funding opportunities and support business development efforts
• Develop policy briefs, reports, and advocacy materials

Requirements

• Master's degree in Public Health, Global Health, Health Policy, or a related field
• Strong experience in health R&D, health policy, or public health programmes
• Proven experience in advocacy and policy influence
• Deep understanding of Africa's health innovation ecosystem
• Excellent leadership, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills
• Experience managing multi-country or multi-stakeholder programmes
• Legal authorization to work in the country of hire
