Responsibilities

FCC Tech Service Officer

• Provide technical assistance for UOP process technologies, particularly Fluid Catalytic Cracking (FCC) and Treating.
• Support other technologies where required, including HF Alkylation, Methanol to Olefins (MTO) and Renewables.
• Work with customers, operating companies, EPC contractors, vendors, consultants and internal technical teams.
• Participate in field assignments involving plant start-ups, restarts, troubleshooting and commercial unit assessments.
• Contribute operational information and industry experience to research and technology improvement projects.
• Review engineering designs for new facilities and plant upgrades, including Design Basis, PFD, P&ID and HAZOP documentation.
• Examine operating data from commercial facilities and prepare technical reports in line with service agreements.
• Monitor customer requirements and ensure relevant feedback is reflected in technical documentation.
• Develop and update operating manuals, process technology guides and training materials.
• Deliver technical training to customers and internal teams within and outside the region.
• Support new and upgraded facilities from pre-commissioning through start-up and final acceptance.
• Prepare Manuals of Instruction for assigned technologies.
• Work towards obtaining Six Sigma Green Belt certification and apply improvement tools to relevant projects.
• Assist with technical symposiums, sales meetings and other knowledge-sharing activities.

Requirements

FCC Tech Service Officer

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline such as Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics.
• At least eight years of experience in FCC and Treating process technologies.
• Relevant experience may come from UOP Field Operating Service, UOP Engineering or refinery process operations, technical services or engineering design.
• Willingness and ability to travel within Nigeria and internationally for up to 50% of working time.
• A degree in Chemical Engineering is preferred.
• Additional experience with HF Alkylation, MTO or OCP technologies is an advantage.
• Strong leadership, customer relationship and stakeholder management skills.
• Good strategic thinking, communication, negotiation and presentation abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work independently, manage several assignments and understand the equipment and operational requirements of the relevant technologies.
