FME TVET Initiative 2026 Cohort 3 Application Portal Is Now Open – Apply Now

TVET Initiative Application Portal: The Federal Ministry of Education has opened the application portal for Cohort 3 of its TVET Initiative. Selected Nigerians receive tuition-free training, a monthly stipend and start-up support in high-demand trades. Training is delivered through certified centres, including Federal and State Technical Colleges, state-owned accredited institutions and registered private vocational centres. No prior educational qualification is required for the 6-month track.

FG TVET Initiative Training Programme Options

Short-Term Certificate (STC) Programme:

• Duration: 6 months
• Suited to first-time trainees, school leavers and people with no formal education
• Entry requirements: valid National Identification Number (NIN) and valid Bank Verification Number (BVN)
• No prior educational qualification required

Vocational Education and Innovation (VEI) Programme:

• Duration: 1 year
• Suited to people with some education or informal training who want to deepen and formalise their skills
• Entry requirements (any one): proof of skills acquired informally or through apprenticeship (Recognition of Prior Learning), First School Leaving Certificate, or any non-formal education certificate such as training from NGOs, religious institutions, nomadic education or community programmes

• Young Nigerians ready to learn a practical skill for employment or entrepreneurship
