The Nigeria Agricultural Quarantine Service (NAQS) has opened its 2026 recruitment exercise for full-time appointments across three cadres: Superintendent, Inspectorate, and Assistant. Positions are available for Veterinary Doctors, Law graduates, general degree holders, OND/NCE holders, and SSCE holders, making this one of the more inclusive government recruitment exercises currently open in Nigeria. Superintendent Cadre:

• Chief Superintendent of Quarantine (CSO) – CONMESS 02 (Veterinary Doctors)
• Deputy Superintendent of Quarantine (DSO) – CONRAISS 08 (Law)
• Assistant Superintendent of Quarantine I (ASO I) – CONRAISS 07 (General Degree Holders)

Inspectorate Cadre:

• Inspector of Quarantine (IQ I – IQ II) – CONRAISS 06 (General Duty)

Assistant Cadre:

• Quarantine Assistant (QA I – QA II) – CONRAISS 04 (General Duty)

Requirements

Superintendent Cadre:

• Chief Superintendent: Minimum DVM from a recognised institution plus NYSC discharge or exemption certificate
• Deputy Superintendent: Minimum LLB or relevant Master's degree plus NYSC discharge or exemption certificate
• Assistant Superintendent I: Minimum Bachelor's degree from a recognised institution plus NYSC discharge certificate

Inspectorate Cadre:

• Minimum OND or NCE from a recognised institution

Assistant Cadre:

• Minimum SSCE, NECO, or GCE O'Level with at least 5 credits including English and Mathematics in not more than 2 sittings

General Requirements (All Cadres):

• Must be Nigerian by birth
• Valid National Identity Number (NIN)
• Medically fit with certificate from a government hospital
• Must pass a drug test
• Good character  no criminal record or cult affiliation
• Free from financial embarrassment
• Computer literate
• Minimum height: 1.65m (male), 1.55m (female)
• Minimum chest measurement for men: 0.87m
• Applicants with serious physical or medical conditions are not eligible
• Due to the physical nature of the exercise, pregnant women should not apply
